How to Get Purple Smokey Eyes

Learn how to create a purple smokey eye look using Avon True Color Makeup with Avon Celebrity Makeup Artist Kelsey Deenihan. This fresh take on the classic smokey eye features a trendy pop of purple and a pretty pink lip.

To start, Kelsey adds a generous amount of Avon True Color Flawless Loose Powder under the eye to catch any eyeshadow fallout. To create the purple smokey eye, Kelsey uses the purple tones of the Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Romantic Mauves.

Here are the step by step instructions:

• Begin by applying the #1 lightest purple shade with a flat brush on the entire lid, starting at the crease and working your way up to the brow.
• Apply the #2 shadow shade from the Avon Eyeshadow Quad just on the lid.
• Use the #3 shade in the outer corners and inner corner of the eye leaving the center of the eye light.
• Use the #4 shade in the outer corners and follow the lash line to intensify the color on the lid. Kelsey also uses the #4 shade on the bottom lash line to smoke out the color underneath.
• To make the purple eyeshadow pop, press the #1 shade again on the lid.
• Line the lash line with True Color Glimmersticks Eye Liner in Sugar Plum and blend it with your finger or brush to give it a smokey effect.
• To finish the eyes, use Avon True Color SuperExtend Nourishing Mascara on the top & bottom lashes. The finishing touch for this trendy look is the lips.
• To balance out the dramatic eye, Kelsey chose a pretty pink shade of Avon True Color Lip Crayon in Risque Rose.
